Mac storage tips

I have two G-Technology drives connected to the iMac via firewire.  The 2TB Raid drive contains my data (word, excel, and other files),Aperture and iTunes library.

The second G-Tech is a 2TB G-Drive – This is used for time machine and also to hold snap copies of the data.  I take a snap once a week using Parachute from creativebe.com.

I am keeping little data on the iMac internal drive as i can then take the 2TB Raid drive to another machine and access the files.  Also if I had to bring in the iMac for repair i would not have the data

Performance of the Firewire raid drive is as good or better then the internal drive as the OS and data are not in competition for disk IO
